Restorative Practice uses props to create an environment for our mind and body to relax deeply. A regular restorative practice relieves stress and fatigue, soothes and stimulates the organs, regulates blood sugar levels, calms the mind and brings balance and health into the body. When we relax our nervous system deeply our body can then heal itself, which is the greatest medicine. Most of us live in a chronic state of stress, compromising our body’s capacity to heal itself, inhibiting recovery from an existing illness, such as high blood pressure, back pain, digestive issues, immune dysfunction, reproductive problems and depression. The antidote to stress is relaxation.
This class has been expanded, several outstanding teachers are scheduled on a rotating basis offering their unique presence and style to the class.

Tai Chi is a moving meditation for your health. Modern Tai Chi is approximately 1500 years old with its root starting over 4000 years ago.It is a system of physical exercises based on the principals of effortless breathing, rhythmic movement and weight equilibrium. The slow and fluid movements of Tai Chi require concentration, control, co-ordination and balance. This combination of mental and physical activity works to harmonize the mind, body and spirit and promotes feelings of well being.Additional benefits of Tai Chi are stress reduction, lowered blood pressure, flexibility, improved circulation and healing, balance and peace. It is perfect for those who need a low stress exercise.

Meditation Class/Workshop – Yoga has its origins in a deep human inclination for personal transformation. Key to that transformation is our capacity to change negative patterns and behaviors; central to that change is our own natural ability to focus. Meditation is easier and less mysterious than is often thought. It does not require belief in any particular worldview and encourages you to lighten up around what you believe to be true, especially your own imagined limitations. This meditation class is open to all, and beginners are welcome. It will involve practical instruction, meditation, as well as teachings to support you in your ongoing practice of yoga and life.

Yoga Trance Dance is an exploration of the eternal flow of natural movement through yoga. Beginning with sahaja prana yoga or the experience of prana initiating yoga asanas, Yoga Trance Dance flows into an exploration of free-form, breath driven movement to liberate ones creative life-force and cultivate embodied freedom.

Chanting uses global chants, rhythms, and songs rooted in yogic philosophy to open to a greater universal rhythm and vibration.

Our Introduction to Yoga series is designed to inject some of that change/challenge/exploration into your life. You will sign up for six classes, each crafted to gradually and intelligently move you towards the something you’re looking for. Your level of flexibility doesn’t matter; your size/shape doesn’t matter; even your age doesn’t matter — what does matter is that you attend with an open mind and a welcoming heart; the rest will happen naturally.

This Introduction to Yoga series includes movement using proven, safe and effective alignment-based methods (poses you will learn range from standing to balance to sitting to twisting, and many places in-between and beyond). Classes also incorporate breath work (exercises) — your breath has the power to calm you, to energize you, to balance your emotions; let’s learn to use it! And, there will be time in each class to explore the history and philosophy of yoga, to ask and answer questions, discuss concerns and celebrate breakthroughs. Best part — you will have fun while learning about this amazing, centuries-old practice.

This inclusive series covers the five classes on the dates and time noted. Arrive in flexible clothing with your yoga mat, we’ll do the rest. And, if you don’t own a yoga mat yet — well, we can provide that for a while, as well.

Once completed, you will be prepared for a basic or mixed level class. We should also mention that you will stand taller, smile more often, even feel more calm and healthier.
